Samara Ribeiro is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist with a psychoanalytic orientation, an associate member of the Freudiano Body - School of Psychoanalysis, and a member in training of the Portuguese Association of Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (AP). She is also a full member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists, with advanced specialization in Psychotherapy and Psychological Assessment.
She has experience in demanding contexts, particularly in the areas of psychiatry, forensic psychology, and private practice, having developed her practice in culturally diverse environments in Brazil and Portugal. She completed her curricular internship at the Psychiatry and Psychology Service of the Armed Forces Hospital (Lisbon branch), with a special focus on the assessment and support of people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Later, she completed a professional internship at a renowned association that supports victims of crime, where she deepened her experience in supporting people exposed to potentially traumatic situations, often marked by feelings of fear, loss of security, and emotional disruption.
Transcultural psychology, support for migrants, relational dynamics, and the psychological impact of trauma and victimization are central areas of her clinical practice. Through a psychoanalytic approach, she offers a safe and confidential therapeutic space, promoting emotional processing, self-knowledge, and lasting internal changes.
